My full time job is with a computer manufacturer in Denver, but I enjoy repairing and upgrading personal computers and laptops on the side for many people in the Denver Metro area. I have 20-plus years experience building, repairing, trouble-shooting and upgrading Desktop PC’s, Laptops and Servers in Denver.

  • If you have a computer that isn’t performing as well as it should, it will cost you nothing for my diagnosis and recommendations.
  • If you decide to continue with my services, my hourly rates are far more reasonable than the local discount stores. I will never charge for more than 5 hours labor, regardless of how long it takes to solve and repair your problematic PC or laptop. When the job is complete, your PC or Laptop will be returned to you with the very latest windows software updates as well as free up-to-date virus and spy ware scanning software. If I am unable to fix your problem, you will pay nothing for my time and advice.

Your Typical and Expensive Computer Repair Center

Popular retail repair centers like Geek Squad will charge you $69.00 just to look at your computer and supposedly tell you what needs to be done about it. As one who has 20-plus years experience working with computer hardware, operating systems and software, I can tell you that it’s impossible to obtain a complete and fair analysis of what’s wrong with your computer based on a flat-fee and know what it will cost in time, labor and parts to put it back in 100% tip-top working order. Computers are not like car engines. In addition to mechanics, they rely on software which is subject to viruses, spy ware, corrupted data and user error. A 1-2 hour diagnostics service can only provide a technician with clues as to where to begin the process of repairing. A full diagnosis requires making actual exploratory changes to your computer to uncover potential damage caused by viruses and other mal ware. For this reason,, you should NEVER have to pay for an initial consultation. Here are a few myths to keep in mind about computer repair:

Computer Repair Myths

  1. Accurate diagnostics do not require changes to your Computer
  2. Removing viruses will repair the damage they’ve caused
  3. Virus and spy ware scanners are enough to repair all problems
  4. Badly infected computers should always be wiped clean and re-installed
  5. Most repair centers back-up your data as part of their repair service

Expensive and Unreliable Computer Repair

After paying $69.00 for a checkup that should be free, Geek Squad will recommend a complete operating system tune-up, including virus and spy ware removal. They will charge you $199.00 regardless of how much time it takes. In some cases, this could be a 45 minute job. In other cases it could take several hours. Why should you pay $269 for a job that might only take 45 minutes? If you’re interested in preserving your data, it will cost you another $99.00 for a backup. The bottom line is, you’re going to pay around $300-$400 for a computer tune-up at your local retail repair center. How can you pay $300 for a repair on your PC and not be guaranteed your data is secure? Can you imagine if your Auto Mechanic charged you extra to insure that he didn’t destroy your brakes, transmission or car engine. Backup should always be included in the price, even if it’s not necessary. There is an alternative for reliable and affordable computer repair.
